Long Live Sandino and the Revolucion

20130718-162841.jpg

Greetings from the land of Mega Volcanoes, Super EarthQuakes and the FSLN.
I arrived to Nicaragua yesterday evening through Peñas Blancas. Costa Rica was a great part of this trip, just a taste of honey, the cherry waits for the day when the Kiwi and the Kangas trabel there together, be by nike or whatsoever, Claudia and I are hoing to love it.
Nicaraguan people seem to be very friendly, so far I feel ver good here. My ride goes on for 25 kms longer so I vlose the day with around 130 kms. Enjoy some Views.

Ticodriles and my farewell to Costa Rica

20130716-232838.jpg

One more day here and that will be it by now through the Ticolands. Tonight I am installed with my private sweat lodge aka Kiwikangas tent here in the Bagaces Costarican Firemen department’ s garden, outside is so humid and with a nasty heat, the positive side is that mosquitoes, disgusting sandflies and scorpions are out of reach… lol, I hope so.
Infinite Gratitude to the Firemen in chief Oscar. Gracias hermano!

Tomorrow If the Mighty Universe consents I shall be crossing the border into the volcanic lands of Nicaragua… Follow us as La Negrita and the Kangas from the Kiwi we approach our final destination on the sacred Mayaland’s Snakes’ Pot: Kankun.

SOS, I need your Helping Hand

Dear All friends, sisters and brothers who have been following my Biketrip through Abya Yala, circumstancially since 2 days ago I am stucked in Cartagena, my last point before I leave Colombia on my way to Panama.
I tried to catch a ride on a cargo boat unsuccessfully, now I am obliged to catch an airplane and fly over the Darien in order to be able to continue the last phase of my ride: Central America and reach my final destination: Cancun, Mexico by the first week of August. And time runs out…

Humbly And kindly I ask for your economical support as my budget has reached the bottom and 3550 kms and 37 days are still ahead. I believe at some point we all can help when we can/want, all I ask from you is a tiny part of that spare money you feel you could share with me. if it is 1 dollar, 1 euro great, this will also be useful on my trip. So ASAPvisit the page Abya Yala SOS (browse the Main menu) and find the details to make your contribution, should you feel you could give me a hand.
A Golde Principle: What we give sooner or later comes back to us!

Infinite Gratitude and Love.

Love, Light, Peace and endless Joy for You and All of your
Beloved Relations.

Federico

Greetings from Ticos land

20130714-201825.jpg

I managed to arrive to Costa Rica on schedule, it took me 4 days to cross the most humid and hot land on my bike tour so far… Well this tropical land of frogs and thick jungles reminds me that I am still crossing Central Abya Yala (America), while I write I sweat like a boiling teapot!!! Help!!! I miss Suomi’s weather!!!!

Yesterday I slept gir the sevond time on my hamock and survived the mosquitoes and “purrujas” ( as the Ticos call these infernal micro sandflies!!!) thanks to my mosquito net, so it pays to travel and heavy as I do… The dark side of this is the already 18 or more!! Broken spokrs, I am so exhausted of this pin in the neck!!! The price to pay my dummy action, I kmow and forgive this one too.

The last days have been so green and hot, wao. Two days I was refreshed by the heaviest rains I habe experienced so far while riding, one hour after it was as hot and dry as before!!!
So much to tell and no time for that so with the refreshing memories of pipas frias (cold coco) in my mind I regret to let this line here clisimg this post. Enjoy some images I share with you.

Love and Gratitude endlessly!!!

From the Colombian Emerald, Farewell to magic Colombia!!!

20130701-174347.jpg

Almost 4 weeks in Colombia and around 1900 kms through the Andes range and the hyper humid/hot Atlantic Colombian coast and I gotta leave thus mighty magic land. I leave grateful and wirh joy to her mountains and valleys and her endlessly smiling friendly people.

Infinita Gratitud divino Eterno Origen Cosmico y Cristico!!!

Ride from Medellin to Cartagena

It took me 6 days to cover more than 700 kms from San Antonio de Prado, Medellin to Getsemani in Cartagena de Indias.

I climbed the respected Matasanos Pass (healthy ones killer) and somedays and hundreds of kms. after left vehind the Andes and started a serious descent from above 2800 masl to around 100 and even 42 masl (Cartagena’s hight), from cozy and fresh nights to steamy, sticky humid nasty hot ones!!! I experienced super heat in the asphalt where my thermometer reached 50 dgrees Celsius, so thankful to the Coconut water, mangos and Mamones who kept my mouth and stomach fresh. I was always wet, never been so wet before except those cycling days when Claudia (the kiwi from the kangas) and I crossed the Tatami desert in the kand of Oz back in 2007!!!

This is what I saw, enjoy!!

Today was a lovely Animals day, first the 2 little cows being born, by the way I just realizedthe deep message behind: Life is such a precious gift! and right today before my eyes it just showed up, today: June 21st. Summer Solstice!!!! And then this afternoon I went to visit my Colombian brother cyclist I met in Coyaique, Chile together with Luis. I was invited for Lunch by Alex and Milena his sweet companion. Then I went with Alex to vist a great place uphill (amazing climbing we rode on his car): a Dog Nursery where homeless sweet dogs are received, loved and fed until someone who loves animals bring one of them home. There are so many homeless dogs already that promotion for their adoption is needed, so Alex, a great pianist and social worker/teacher is also a photographer, so he went there to photograph the doggies in order to publish a brochure. Great Paisas initiative, Kudos!!!!
